Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add a key?
Tap the + button on the Keys tab. You'll be prompted to photograph the front and back of the key โ just follow the on-screen guides. You can also add details like a name, notes, and the number of copies.
How do I assign a key to a lock?
Open the key's detail screen, then tap the lock picker. You can select an existing lock or create a new one. A key can be linked to multiple locks if needed.
What is the Overdue tab?
The Overdue tab shows keys that have copies currently lent out and past their expected return date. It's a quick way to chase up any keys that haven't come back on time.
How do I report a lost key?
Open the key's detail screen and tap Report Lost in the top-right corner. This marks the key (or a specific copy) as lost so you can track its status and take follow-up action.
Will my data be backed up?
All data is stored locally on your device by default. iCloud Sync is available with a KeyRing Pro subscription โ enabling it keeps your keys, photos, and records in sync across all your Apple devices automatically.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Go to iOS Settings โ Apple ID โ Subscriptions, find KeyRing, and tap Cancel Subscription. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period. KeyRing does not handle billing directly โ all subscriptions are managed by Apple.
